Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The BJP criticized the opposition INDIA bloc's rally at Ramlila ground in New Delhi on March 31, stating that it was not a "Loktantra Bachao" meeting as portrayed, but rather a "Parivaar Bachao" and "hide corruption" rally.
BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted corruption cases involving leaders from the Congress, DMK, and RJD, asserting that these charges date back to the pre-2014 period. This comes amid accusations from the opposition that the Modi government is targeting them in graft probes out of political vendetta.
Trivedi noted that Ramlila ground previously hosted the "India against corruption" movement led by Anna Hazare. He criticized the rally for hosting individuals associated with corruption, despite having denounced them as thieves and crooks in the past. He pointed out the alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition parties, led by convicted corrupt politician Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The BJP spokesperson accused the rally attendees of attempting to conceal their past wrongdoings. He highlighted their past opposition to the construction of the Ram temple and some of their calls for the eradication of Hinduism. Trivedi alleged that these parties represent a credibility crisis in Indian politics, contrasting them with the BJP, which, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, stands for credibility and delivering on promises.
